The Musikong Kawayan Bamboo Ensemble is one of the resident performing groups under the PCFI. It is well known by Filipinos of all ages. This tune is usually sang by children like the “ABC song” and “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star” of the west. It is surrounded by all sorts of vegetables. The song is about a Bahay kubo, a house made of bamboo with a roof made of nipa leaves. “Bahay Kubo” is one of the most popular Philippine folk songs of all time. This is a track from our first album entitled “Musikong Kawayan” (Bamboo Music) and is available at. I have been conducting this group at the Philippine Cultural Foundation, Inc.‘s Bayanihan Arts and Events Center.
